El declive japonés. Una sociedad en riesgo

Resumen

Japón enfrenta una severa crisis desde la explosión de la burbuja inmobiliaria y bursátil en la década de 1990, que propició la disminución de su posición en el orden económico global. La recesión económica se vio exacerbada por la pandemia del coronavirus SARS-CoV-2, la cual ha socavado los esfuerzos de desarrollo a escala mundial. El estado actual de la economía japonesa ha sido agravado por dos factores críticos: el envejecimiento de la población y la baja tasa de natalidad. Dada la importancia de Japón en el ámbito internacional, este trabajo tiene como objetivo analizar estos dos factores íntimamente ligados a cuestiones de pobreza y desesperanza entre los jóvenes a partir del enfoque de la sociedad de riesgo propuesta por Ulrich Beck y con una metodología cualitativa que permite entender cómo la sociedad japonesa enfrenta serios riesgos económicos y sociales por el drástico descenso de su población joven.
