Abstract:Climate change is one of the most pressing challenges on the international agenda today. Despite this fact, the emission of Carbon Dioxide (CO2) increases on a daily basis. Academic studies to date have shown that there are two principal causes for the increase in greenhouse gasses: population growth and economic expansion. In this essay, an analytical overview of the relationship between these two variables is offered, using China as a model: the country with the largest population in the world that also presents, over the past three decades, the largest economic growth rate in the world.Downloads
